Legends Pet Care Service Policies & Procedures
Legends Pet Care Services provides loving care when you’re not there. Whether you are gone during work, on vacation, or attending other events, Legends Pet Care Services will be there to provide care and companionship for your pets while you are gone.
Office Hours: Our regular office hours with be 8am to 4pm Monday-Friday and 8am-12pm on Saturday. The office will be closed on Sundays and all Federal Holidays. We do check emails, voicemails and texts at all times. We will monitor for emergencies when the office is closed. All other voicemails, emails and texts will be returned during regular business hours.
Initial Consultation/Meet & Greet: This is complementary and required for all new clients. Please allow 20 minutes minimum for us to assess your pet’s needs and review service agreement and veterinary release forms.
Keys: Legends Pet Care Services will need 2 copies of your house keys or security code during the initial consultation when service has been agreed upon. For recurring services, Legends Pet Care Services will keep your provided keys secured for our convenience. All keys will be kept locked up while not in use. All keys will be tagged and only your pets name will be on the tag.
Reservation requests: It is best to plan at least two weeks in advance for pet sitting services needed that involve multiple visits per day. If you schedule less than two weeks in advance, there may not be room on our schedule to approve your request. We will try to accommodate last minute requests as best as possible, but there is no guarantee we will have room in our schedule to honor such requests. Requests for recurring services, we will discuss scheduling, billing, and payment at initial consultation. Legends Pet Care Services reserves the right to deny reservation requests.
Cancellation Fees: (Early returns, last minute changes, cancellations) We schedule all appointments and assign to sitters. Cancellations disrupt our schedules and cause us to have to rearrange schedules and could possibly cause us to turn away other clients. Therefore, the following cancellation policy applies to all cancellations and last minute changes:
Pet Sitting (multiple visits per day, vacations, etc)-
Canceled or changed more than 7 days in advance: No Charge
Canceled or changed 2-7 days in advance: 50% of the total booking.
Canceled less than 2 days notice: 75% of the total booking.
Canceled less than 1 days notice: 100% of the total booking.
Daily recurring pet visits (midday dog walks, one day check on pets, etc)-
Canceled or changed with 24 hour notice: No charge
Canceled or changed less than 24 hours: 50% of visit charge
Holiday cancellations on all services with less than 7 days notice will be charged the full rate including the holiday fee.
Holiday Fees: ($5 per visit, $10 per visit on holiday itself) Applied to any scheduled service and per visit during the following holiday and holiday periods: Easter weekend (Sat-Mon), Memorial Day weekend (Sat-Mon), Independence Day (if it falls on a weekend, the weekend visits will be included), Labor Day weekend (Sat-mon), Thanksgiving weekend (Thur-Sun), Christmas Eve-New Years Day.
Extra Pet Fee-
A fee of $5.00 will be added per pet over three pets on all services and per visit.
Same Day Requested Pet Visits-
A fee of $10 will be charged in addition to normal fee. This fee will be $20 in addition to our normal holiday fee on all listed holidays.
Late Booking Pet Sitting Fee- A fee of $15.00 may be charged for any pet sitting (vacation, multiple visits) made less than 72 hours in advance. This is a one time fee, not per visit.
Late Booking M-F Late Booking Fee For Midday Visits- A fee of $5.00 may be charged for any midday visit Monday-Friday made less than 24 hours in advance.
Payment: All service fees are due upon receipt of invoice. Fees can be paid by cash, check, or credit/debit card right from the invoice. Checks should be made out to Legends Pet Care Services. Returned checks will incur a $35 charge. Daily recurring visit or walking Monday-Sunday fees are invoiced weekly on Friday. Vacation visits will be invoiced on last day of vacation period for one week or less. Visits lasting longer than a week will be invoiced weekly on Friday of each week.
Unplanned Fees: Client will reimburse Legends Pet Care Services if the sitter needs to restock depleted supplies. For example, food, litter, treats, medications, flea products and other items needed for complete care of their pet(s).
Records, Contracts and Forms: All records, contracts and forms will be delivered electronically and stored electronically. All records, contracts and forms are the property of Legends Pet Care Services. All pictures taken of your pets used to update you during our visits remain our property. Clients agree that all pictures taken by our sitters during visits can be used for promotion of our services in advertisements and on social media. No information about your pets, home or other private information will be shared with any other party. All information we receive is confidential and will never be sold or shared.
One Account Per Household: To avoid confusion, and provide timeliness of service, we only allow one account per household. Access to that account is up to you. All pets needing services must be listed for insurance purposes.
Electronic Reports: For those on recurring daily visits or walks, we will send an update and picture of your pet at least once per week. For visits or walks or vacation sittings, we will send an update and picture at least once per day.
Visitors: Please let us know if you expect any visitors while we are contracted for services. Visitors include: cleaning personnel, landscapers, construction/repair and utility workers; also any friends or relatives. If we are not notified of visitors, we will assume that they are trespassing on your property and the police will be notified.
Visit policies: All dogs must be visited a minimum of 3 times per day if you are away over night. All other pets must be visited at least once a day. Our minimum visit time is 20 minutes. We recommend at least one visit per day for cats, fish, birds or other small animals and 4 visits per day for dogs when we do vacation sittings.
If another party is involved in the care of your pets while you're away, Legends Pet Care Services assumes no responsibilities of damage or negligence caused by other parties. If another party is involved in the care of your pets, Legends Pet Care Services must be informed and approve of the request prior to the scheduled beginning of care.
Our pet liability policy requires that all pets must be on the leash when outside of the home and not in a physically fenced yard. If your dog uses an E-collar or underground electric fence system, please let us know.
We will do our best to clean up any pet messes, but cannot guarantee that stains or damage will not remain. Please leave your cleaner of choice under your kitchen sink or we will use our own.
Early return: Please notify us if you will be returning home earlier than expected.
Late return: In the event that you will be away longer than planned, it is imperative that you contact us for extensions of service. Your pet’s well being depends on this communication.
Inclement weather: Legends Pet Care Services will may arrive earlier or later than planned time should there be inclement weather. As soon as it is safe to visit or walk your pet we will complete the service. Should the weather be a safety issue or authorities close roads, we will make the visit or walk as soon as it is safe to do so.
Emergencies: In the event that a pet emergency arises, we will take your pet to the appropriate veterinarian that you chose on the Veterinary Authorization form, or to an appropriate facility that is available. You will be notified as soon as possible in case of any emergency. If in the event you are out of reach, your emergency contact will be notified.
Owners Property: It is the pet owner’s sole responsibility to “pet-proof” any areas of the home and/or property to which the pet has access. This includes thoroughly inspecting fences, gates, latches, door and other devices meant to contain the pet or restrict access to specific areas. The pet sitter does not assume responsibility and has no liability for any injuries the pet may sustain or property damage the pet may cause while in its own home/property.

Collection of your Personal Information
In order to better provide you with products and services offered, Legends Pet Care may collect personally identifiable information, such as your:
- First and Last Name
- Mailing Address
- E-mail Address
- Phone Number
We do not collect any personal information about you unless you voluntarily provide it to us. However, you may be required to provide certain personal information to us when you elect to use certain products or services. These may include: (a) registering for an account; (b) entering a sweepstakes or contest sponsored by us or one of our partners; (c) signing up for special offers from selected third parties; (d) sending us an email message; (e) submitting your credit card or other payment information when ordering and purchasing products and services. To wit, we will use your information for, but not limited to, communicating with you in relation to services and/or products you have requested from us. We also may gather additional personal or non-personal information in the future.
Use of your Personal Information
Legends Pet Care collects and uses your personal information to operate and deliver the services you have requested.
Legends Pet Care may also use your personally identifiable information to inform you of other products or services available from Legends Pet Care and its affiliates.
Sharing Information with Third Parties
Legends Pet Care does not sell, rent or lease its customer lists to third parties.
Legends Pet Care may share data with trusted partners to help perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, or arrange for deliveries. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to Legends Pet Care, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.
Legends Pet Care may disclose your personal information, without notice, if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on Legends Pet Care or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of Legends Pet Care; and/or (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Legends Pet Care, or the public.
Automatically Collected Information
Information about your computer hardware and software may be automatically collected by Legends Pet Care. This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times and referring website addresses. This information is used for the operation of the service, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the Legends Pet Care website.
This website contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of any other site that collects personally identifiable information.
Security of your Personal Information
Legends Pet Care secures your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. Legends Pet Care uses the following methods for this purpose:

Right to Deletion
Subject to certain exceptions set out below, on receipt of a verifiable request from you, we will:
• Delete your personal information from our records; and
• Direct any service providers to delete your personal information from their records.
Please note that we may not be able to comply with requests to delete your personal information if it is necessary to:
• Complete the transaction for which the personal information was collected, fulfill the terms of a written warranty or product recall conducted in accordance with federal law, provide a good or service requested by you, or reasonably anticipated within the context of our ongoing business relationship with you, or otherwise perform a contract between you and us;
• Detect security incidents, protect against malicious, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activity; or prosecute those responsible for that activity;
• Debug to identify and repair errors that impair existing intended functionality;
• Exercise free speech, ensure the right of another consumer to exercise his or her right of free speech, or exercise another right provided for by law;

Children Under Thirteen
Legends Pet Care does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen. If you are under the age of thirteen, you must ask your parent or guardian for permission to use this website.
Disconnecting your Legends Pet Care Account from Third Party Websites
You will be able to connect your Legends Pet Care account to third party accounts. BY CONNECTING YOUR LEGENDS PET CARE ACCOUNT TO YOUR THIRD PARTY ACCOUNT, YOU ACKNOWLEDGE AND AGREE THAT YOU ARE CONSENTING TO THE CONTINUOUS RELEASE OF INFORMATION ABOUT YOU TO OTHERS (IN ACCORDANCE WITH YOUR PRIVACY SETTINGS ON THOSE THIRD PARTY SITES). IF YOU DO NOT WANT INFORMATION ABOUT YOU, INCLUDING PERSONALLY IDENTIFYING INFORMATION, TO BE SHARED IN THIS MANNER, DO NOT USE THIS FEATURE. You may disconnect your account from a third party account at any time. Users may learn how to disconnect their accounts from third-party websites by visiting their "My Account" page. Users may also contact us via email or telephone.
From time to time, Legends Pet Care may contact you via email for the purpose of providing announcements, promotional offers, alerts, confirmations, surveys, and/or other general communication.
