About Us

As lifelong pet owners ourselves, we fully understand the emotional toll of leaving your cherished pet behind when you're away from home. The worry and concern about their well-being and whether they're receiving the same level of care you provide them is all too real because, in our hearts, our pets are part of our family.

We firmly believe that pets are most at ease in their familiar surroundings. They thrive in the comfort of their own home, surrounded by their usual scents, their cozy bed, and meals served at their regular times. This is where a pet sitter plays a crucial role in maintaining a sense of normalcy for your pets.

At Legends Pet Sitting Services, we offer a comprehensive range of pet sitting concierge services. Whether you need a single daily visit or multiple visits for extended vacations, we accommodate your pet's schedule. Our dedicated team ensures one-on-one affection and care for your furry companions. We handle feeding, clean-up, and provide those personal touches that they adore. Additionally, we aim to alleviate your worries, granting you the peace of mind that your pet is well cared for. Rest assured, we take care of your home's security, including locking up, adjusting lights, and tending to your plants.

Legends Pet Sitting Services is fully licensed, insured, and bonded. Our team is certified in pet first aid, and we proudly hold membership in the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters.

Our commitment is to serve you and your pet with top-tier service. You and your pet are at the heart of our mission.

George Lockwood - Founder and Owner

George's journey began with his service in the U.S. Navy and continued through a career in consumer and mortgage lending, eventually leading to a role in the Credit Union industry. Over his 34-year career, he gained experience in all aspects of Credit Unions, from deposits and loans to HR, IT, investments, and management. In 2005, he was appointed as the President and CEO of a Credit Union in Charleston, SC. After retiring, George embarked on a new chapter in life, driven by a passion for animal care.

George's inspiration came during a vacation when a pet sitter caring for his dog forgot their commitment. This experience led him to realize his calling and the potential to provide exceptional service.

Devoted to his love for animals, George became a professional Pet Care Provider, delivering loyal and affectionate pet care services to the Summerville area and beyond. Our hallmark is patience, kindness, and competence, values that our clients can attest to. Many of them choose our services regularly because they trust us with their beloved pets. No task is too big or too small for us to handle, so please don't hesitate to reach out. We're eager to begin looking after your precious pet.

Amy

I have wanted to work with animals since I was in kindergarten. I got my pet care start at 17 as a volunteer with the Dorchester County SPCA (aka Dorchester Paws) and was later hired as an employee. To expand my pet care experience, I moved to a grooming and boarding facility and stayed there until I entered grooming school, in 1999. After finishing grooming school, I worked as a groomer, then as a groomer/owner/operator for the last 23 years.
